{"id":21010,"date":"2020-11-25T09:58:53","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T13:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artechdigital.net\/?p=21010"},"modified":"2020-11-25T09:58:53","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T13:58:53","slug":"new-snapchat-spotlight-feature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artechdigital.net\/en\/new-snapchat-spotlight-feature\/","title":{"rendered":"New Snapchat feature puts company on $1 million a day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A lot of money is being invested in the promotion of Spotlight, the new Snapchat feature that seeks with an investment of one million dollars a day to encourage users to send their best content using the new mode.<\/p>\n<p>Spotlight is described as Snapchat&#8217;s answer to TikTok, as it allows users to create similar types of content.<\/p>\n<p>With Spotlight, users can create short videos up to 60 seconds long and edit them with creative tools such as<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Captions<\/li>\n<li>Licensed Music<\/li>\n<li>Original sound recordings<\/li>\n<li>Augmented Reality Filters (called Lenses)<\/li>\n<li>GIFs<\/li>\n<li>Hashtags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Snapchat&#8217;s new feature, &#8220;Spotlight&#8221;, is so called because it is designed to highlight the entertainment videos of all users; no matter how many followers or how influential they are.<\/p>\n<p>Spotlight will also highlight users&#8217; content, whether they have a public profile or not. We do this by trying to understand their personal preferences.<\/p>\n<p>The Snapchat <a href=\"\/?p=19053\">algorithm<\/a> also takes into account the following factors in curing the content:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Time of observation<\/li>\n<li>Likes<\/li>\n<li>Actions<\/li>\n<li>Bounce rate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before content is released in the new Snapchat feature, it is reviewed by moderators to ensure that it is appropriate and entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>Snapchat emphasizes that Spotlight is an entertainment platform and not a place for news or overly political content.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How do I make money from Spotlight content?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Whether you make money with a presentation of the new Snapchat feature is determined by a proprietary formula based on the number of unique views you receive compared to other content presented that day.<\/p>\n<p>Snapchat says that it is actively monitoring to ensure that visit counts are not artificially inflated.<\/p>\n<p>Earnings will be paid to users every day and Snapchat will send a direct message to notify people that they have been awarded a share of the money.<\/p>\n<p>Spotlight is spreading slowly and is available in the following countries first:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia<\/li>\n<li>Canada<\/li>\n<li>Denmark<\/li>\n<li>France<\/li>\n<li>Germany<\/li>\n<li>Ireland<\/li>\n<li>New Zealand<\/li>\n<li>Norway<\/li>\n<li>Sweden<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>United States<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Snapchat will pay $1 million per day from now until the end of 2020.
